Edie Brickell & New Bohemians appeared on The Tonight Show this week to perform “Stubborn Love” off the band’s latest record, Hunter and the Dog Star.
As Brickell recently told Relix, “The way that I hear music is that I see images—I see stories and people. When I heard [the beginnings of ‘Stubborn Love’], I pictured this young couple at a bowling alley. I thought, ‘Well, I’m just going to tell this story about what I know to be the truth for a lot of young women.’ [Laughs.] That story, to me, is not just one couple’s story—it represents so many people that I know.”
