This Sunday, Feb. 28, Deadheadland TV and Jews For Jerry will present a Purim celebration livestream. The show will feature such artists as Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Scott Law, Leslie Mendelson and more. It will begin at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET.

According to the description of the event, it will be “a Grateful reading of the Story of Ester through words and song, an online costume contest, and more surprises in store.” In addition to the aforementioned artists, Scott Guberman, Jordan Feinstein, Ezra Lipp, Jeannette Ferber and Mookie Siegel will participate.

In addition to the music, there will also be a costume contest–viewers are encouraged to dress up like characters from the Purim story in order to win prizes. The description also made it clear that all were welcome to the event: “All ages welcome, whether it is you home alone, or you and your family. Children of all ages are encouraged to participate! And you do not have to be Jewish – all are welcome and encouraged to join in the fun, and there will be music!”

“We will provide links in advance to download a booklet with the story to follow along, hamantashen recipes, and information on how to participate at home,” continued the description. “Check back here soon, and on our Facebook pages, for the link.”

While the stream can be streamed for free, viewers can donate any amount in order to be admitted to the Zoom event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Shalom Bayit, a Bay Area “center for domestic violence prevention and response within the Jewish Community.”
