Following a Jan. 26 message from moe., detailing the cancellation of March 2021’s snoe.down event, officials from Frisco, Colo.’s 10 Mile Music Hall have shared their own statement on the proceedings, particularly regarding fan refunds.

“moe. released a statement yesterday that might have been mis-interpreted to a degree,” venue officials wrote on Jan. 27. “After announcing the cancellation they mentioned we have not agreed to offer refunds. This has been interpreted as we don’t plan to offer refunds. We have ALWAYS planned to refund all ticketholders. While we aren’t in a financial position to offer refunds currently we are doing everything in our power to give full refunds as soon as we can. We worked with MOE. Management and their booking agency over the last week and authorized their booking agency to release the deposit we paid them in February for these shows and be distributed for partial refunds. We take full responsibility for the additional refunds owed to fans.”

snoe.down was set to be a three-day “celebration of music and snow sport” at both the 10 Mile Music Hall and Copper Mountain, which was offering “steeply discounted 2-day ski passes” for fans. It was pushed from March 2020 to March 2021 due to COVID-19 concerns, and it was set to be the first snoe.down in seven years.

In their Jan. 26 statement, moe. explained that while some ticketholders will receive a full refund, those who purchased passes through eventbrite will get 35% of their money back, an amount fronted by the band themselves.

“We know you are all frustrated and for those of you receiving a partial refund, anything less than 100% is unacceptable,” moe. wrote. “We are so very sorry about this situation when we know that everyone is under stress – financially, emotionally, physically. Please accept our deepest apologies for this unintended hardship. We are doing our best to secure funds from 10 Mile Music Hall that will allow us to fund the balance of the refund.”

In turn, 10 Mile Music Hall received some blowback from moe. fans, who were unhappy with the delay as well as the partial refunds.

As venue officials explain, “We have always loved moe., this music scene, the fans and live music in general. It has been heartbreaking to see the amount of hate being thrown our way, we completely understand why, but no less heartbreaking. We hope to get everyone their refund as soon as we are able to.”

Hello All,

We wanted to take a minute and update you on our current refund situation. Moe. released a statement yesterday that might have been mis-interpreted to a degree. After announcing the cancellation they mentioned we have not agreed to offer refunds. This has been interpreted as we don’t plan to offer refunds.

We have ALWAYS planned to refund all ticketholders . While we aren’t in a financial position to offer refunds currently we are doing everything in our power to give full refunds as soon as we can. We worked with MOE. Management and their booking agency over the last week and authorized their booking agency to release the deposit we paid them in February for these shows and be distributed for partial refunds.

We take full responsibility for the additional refunds owed to fans. When the world shut down in March we thought we would be cancelling shows for a few weeks and would be producing revenue again by April. Obviously we were way off.

At this point there is no excuse, but again please know that before anything else once funds are available REFUNDS COME FIRST.

Looking forward we are very hopeful with the recent passing of the Save Our Stages act as well as our appeal with EIDL and have every intention of refunding all tickets in their entirety when the funds become available.

We have always loved Moe., this music scene, the fans and live music in general. It has been heartbreaking to see the amount of hate being thrown our way, we completely understand why, but no less heartbreaking. We hope to get everyone their refund as soon as we are able to.

Thanks
10 Mile

A message from moe. regarding snoe.down.

December 2019 was a time of great excitement for us. We were looking ahead to 2020 and what was to be our time to celebrate 30 years of moe. There were tours scheduled, albums to be released and the Rocky Mountain debut of our beloved snoe.down. As we all know, 2020 did not turn out to be the year any of us expected.

In order to keep our famoe.ly, fans, and crew safe, we made the heartbreaking call to end our Winter West Coast Tour – with one week left to go on the road – right as talk of a national lockdown began. Not knowing what to expect, we spoke with the folks at 10 Mile Music Hall about rescheduling the Frisco, CO based snoe.down to 2021. With the pandemic ongoing, and continuing first and foremost with your safety in mind, we regret to announce that snoe.down will be cancelled in full.

For those of you who have been looking for answers on any previously requested refunds, we are frustrated as well. We never received any funds from 10 Mile Music Hall, the event’s promoter, and they have not offered to fund the refunds for tickets. But we have been able to do the following:

• Those original ticket holders who purchased their ticket via the artist pre sale with Tickets Today will be issued a 100% refund. These refunds will be automatically made to the original point of purchase and you should expect an email from Ticket Today’s parent company, Ticketmaster.

• For the other ticket buyers, the moe. organization has gathered enough money to offer a 35% refund to all original ticket holders who purchased a ticket to snoe.down via Eventbrite. An email will be sent to those purchasers with directions on how to receive your partial refund.

We know you are all frustrated and for those of you receiving a partial refund, anything less than 100% is unacceptable. We are so very sorry about this situation when we know that everyone is under stress – financially, emotionally, physically. Please accept our deepest apologies for this unintended hardship. We are doing our best to secure funds from 10 Mile Music Hall that will allow us to fund the balance of the refund.

We cannot wait to be with you again live, hitting the slopes somewhere soon, and enjoying our time together. It means the world to us.
