To celebrate the final night of Hanukkah (which occurred last night, Dec. 17), Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band have released a new rendition of the Grateful Dead classic “Samson & Delilah,” sung in Hebrew.
The band put together a remote performance of the song, with each musician recording their part independently. Lesh provided bass, with Ross James and Grahame Lesh on guitar and vocals. Alex Koford played additional acoustic guitar, Jason Crosby handled keyboard duties and Nathan Graham and Mark Levy held it down on the drums. Finally, Elliott Peck provided additional vocals.
“Happy Hanukkah from Phil & The Terrapin Family Band!” read a post on The Terrapin Family Band’s Facebook page. “Dig into this Hebrew version of “Samson & Delilah” w/ our good buddy Mark Levy joining in on the fun.”
