For his final night of his eight-week Beacon Jams residency, Trey Anastasio was sure to give longtime Phish fan favorite “Pebbles and Marbles” the star treatment, enlisting not only the horn section from his namesake band (Jen Hartswick, Natalie Cressman and James Casey) but also the Rescue Squad String quartet for a brand new arrangement.

The delicate nature of the composition was further enhanced by Anastasio’s reimagining of the tune – which was originally debuted on 1/1/03 at Virginia’s Hampton Coliseum.

However, eventually the tune gave way to its jam segment, and drummer Russ Lawton, keyboardist Ray Paczkowski, bassist Tony Markellis and percussionist Cyro Baptista joined in as Anastasio switched back to his electric guitar.
