Tame Impala – aka Kevin Parker – recently nodded to his Australian roots by performing “On Track” for this year’s edition of the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards.
And while he can usually be seen tinkering with a synthesizer or bashing an electric guitar, this performance finds Parker strumming an acoustic guitar as he laments, “Challenges falling in my lap/ Strung out again, but still on track.”
The tune comes from Tame Impala’s The Slow Rush, which came out in February 2020. In turn, the LP took home several awards this year, including Album of the Year and Best Rock Album.
