On Nov. 14, legendary New Orleans club Tipitina’s will offer “Save Tip’s” a free, 3+ hour livestream benefit to raise money and “keep the venue afloat as it rides out the pandemic shutdown.” The venue has announced additional artists: Phish’s Mike Gordon, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor.

Tedeschi Trucks Band will provide a cover of Dr. John’s “Walk On Guilded Splinters” as part of the event’s tribute to the New Orleans legend. Meanwhile, Gordon and Reznor will participate in a discussion about their experiences at, memories of and connections to the famed venue.

In addition, the venue announced that fans can donate to support Tipitina’s for a chance to win a virtual backstage hang with Dave Schools of Widespread Panic, David Shaw of The Revivalists or Stanton Moor and Ben Ellman of Galactic.

In addition to the new announcements, the venue will dig into its video vault for this star-studded event and stream performances by Professor Longhair, Fats Domino, Willie Nelson, Dr. John, Widespread Panic, Wilco, Billy Strings, The Radiators feat. Gregg Allman, Preservation Hall Jazz Band feat. Allen Toussaint and many more.

According to a recent interview with Tipitina’s co-owner/Galactic bassist Robert Mercurio, the current financial outlook for live music industry is “terrifying,” but the venue is doing everything it can to keep the spirit of New Orleans alive.

Tune in on Nov. 14 (9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT / 6 p.m. PT) at Tipitinas.com.
