Tonight, Behind The Arc, a progressive Jewish organization, is hosting ‘We Rise: National Solidarity Gathering Two Years After Tree of Life Shooting,’ a solidarity gathering to commemorate the two year anniversary of the deadly shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The event will feature Pittsburgh Jewish leaders, words from Senator Bernie Sanders and musical performances. Among those performances will be Yeah Yeah Yeah’s drummer Brian Chase and Sway Machinery’s Jeremiah’s Lockwood, who will deliver a remote collaboration.
“Two years after the deadliest act of antisemitic violence in our country’s history, we are rising up across the country,” read the event’s description. “Join us for a powerful national solidarity gathering featuring Pittsburgh Jewish leaders, prominent movement and faith leaders, music, and Senator Bernie Sanders.”
“As one community, from our homes across the country, we will mourn those we lost, learn about how we can address the threat of white nationalism, and rise up alongside our partners to fight for a country where we are all truly safe and free,” concluded the description.
