Pigeons Playing Ping Pong fought the elements on Saturday Oct. 24, dodging lightning storms at North Carolina’s Smoky Mountain Event Center and even debuting their version of “Dreams.”

The band appropriately opened with their own “Lightning” and managed to get through “Whoopie” and a part of “Bad For You,” before the harsh weather forced them offstage.

Thankfully, the weather somewhat cooperated and quartet managed to get back onstage for a short second set, picking up where they left off on “Bad For You.”

Later, within a massive “F.U.” segment, PPPP offered their debut cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” a song which recently returned to public consciousness due to a viral video.

“A little lightning didn’t stop us from feeling that electric Asheville energy last night,” the band wrote afterwards.

Instead of taking an encore, PPPP played on, sandwiching the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Otherside” in their original “Drunk People.”

Looking ahead, PPPP are preparing for their sold-out “Flockbuster” Halloween run, available remotely as a pay-per-view livestream on FANS.
