Tonight – Oct. 9 – Trey Anastasio will play his first of eight crowdless shows at NYC’s Beacon Theatre. Recently, the Phish guitarist sat down with SiriusXM’s Ari Fink to discuss the ins and outs of planning concerts in the COVID-19 era.

“This whole thing is going to be completely COVID compliant, everyone’s getting tested every day,” Anastasio said of the unique outing.

As for special guests, Anastasio says he’s “not ruling that out,” but he’s letting the ideas come naturally, as opposed to Phish’s highly orchestrated Baker’s Dozen run: “I’ve been doing a little bit of planning, but I’m very much in a mindset of letting it unfold… it will change from week to week.”

According to a press release, “All proceeds from The Beacon Jams donations will benefit Phish’s long-running non-profit, the WaterWheel Foundation, and its new Divided Sky Fund (DSF). The proceeds will be used to deliver help to those affected by addiction and help further plans to open a treatment center in Vermont.”

Tune in to the run every Friday between Oct. 9 and Nov. 27 on Twitch.tv/TreyAnastasio.
