Flatpicker Larry Keel has announced a new solo album American Dream, set for a Nov. 6 release. In addition to the album announcement, Keel also shared the first single from the record, “Try.”
The record is a true solo effort: According to a press release, “Keel single-handedly produced, recorded, and wrote each of the 10 tracks on the album, a project that was predominantly created during quarantine this past spring… Keel plays each instrument on every track of American Dream, giving listeners a unique opportunity to hear the acclaimed acoustic guitar player showcase his mandolin chops, banjo licks, upright bass thump and power on electric guitar.”
“I consider this album to be a culmination of my deepest and most sincere thoughts, up to now. In spite of the turbulent times happening when I wrote most of these songs, I felt really centered and energized to just say exactly what was on my mind through lyrics and music,” said Keel in a press release. “For me, this was a positive experience in starting a conversation through this recording. Hopefully it resonates with someone out there.”
