Explains GD legacy manager/archivist David Lemieux, “From the Grateful Dead’s very first show at Shoreline Amphitheatre, we have this typically hot, energetic ‘China Cat Sunflower / I Know You Rider’ featuring the quintessential 1987 Grateful Dead sound. They’d been scheduled to play Shoreline in the late Summer of 1986, but Jerry’s diabetic coma meant they had to delay their first performance there a year.”
