For this week’s edition of All The Years Live, Grateful Dead HQ is revisiting the band’s second-set “Standing On The Moon” from their memorable 7/7/89 stop in Philadelphia.

“From its debut earlier in 1989, ‘Standing On The Moon’ was greeted as a wonderful addition to the Grateful Dead’s repertoire,” explains GD archivist David Lemieux. “Wonderfully vivid Hunter lyrics with a late-era classic Jerry ballad made for a beautiful moment whenever it was played, and this version from the second set of the final performance at JFK Stadium is spectacular.”
