This week’s edition of the Grateful Dead’s ‘All The Years Live’ series showcases a summer 1990 version of the rollicking “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodleloo,” live in Orchard Park, NY.
Explains GD legacy manager/archivist David Lemieux, “‘Mississippi Half-Step’ debuted at the first Grateful Dead show after Pigpen’s last final show with the band, when the Dead played 7/16/72 in Hartford, CT, 18 years to the day before this performance in Buffalo. It was a common part of the setlist throughout the next 23 years, with the exception of 1983-1984, played a total of 234 times.”

August 22, 2020 at 8:36 amWow, thank you for sharing!!! In times of isolation and non-concerts it’s incredible to see the boys in front of an absolutely PACKED stadium weaving folk, western, blues, and rock into a masterpiece! Jerry sounds great on this but for me Phil really stands out, he creates an entire symphony for everyone else to play on top of.
