On Oct. 9, Sun Ra Arkestra will drop their first studio project in 20 years, the 10-track Swirling.
To stoke excitement for the project, the band has shared the project’s lead single.
“Angels and Demons at Play” spans seven psychedelic minutes, and finds the Sun Ra Arkestra as expansive as ever.
“We truly hope that this recording brings much joy to a planet which is so deeply in need of a spirit sound and vibration,” saxophonist Knoel Scott said in a press statement. “We hope it contributes to a change in the ominous direction of man’s journey through the cosmos.”
