On July 3, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour shared his first new track in half a decade, the acoustic-driven, “Yes, I Have Ghosts.”

And while the track was previously available alongside the audiobook of Polly Samson’s novel, A Theatre for Dreamers (Samson is Gimour’s wife and creative partner), this marks its first official musical release.

On the refrain, the Pink Floyd guitarist delicately sings “Yes, I have ghosts/ Not all of them dead,” as his daughter, Romany, plays the harp and sings alongside him.

“I was working on this song just as we went into lockdown and had to cancel a session with backing singers,” Gilmour said via press release, “but, as it turned out, the solution was right here and I couldn’t be happier with the way Romany’s voice blends with mine and her beautiful harp playing has been another revelation.”
