On July 5, FANS.com will rebroadcast the Grateful Dead’s final ‘Fare Thee Well’ run, which originally took place on July 3-5, 2015 at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill. The broadcast celebrates the five-year anniversary of the event, and it marks the first time that these shows have been rebroadcasted.
While the broadcast is completely free, fans can send donations, which support Headcount. Fans will have the opportunity to Be In The Stream via a separate Zoom link.
The ‘Fare Thee Well’ shows marked the final time in history that Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann would share the stage together. It was the first time the four had performed together since The Dead’s 2009 tour. The “core four” were joined onstage by Trey Anastasio, Bruce Hornsby, and Jeff Chimenti for this momentous celebration of the Grateful Dead. In addition to the Soldier Field shows, the group also performed two shows at Santa Clara’s Levi Stadium on June 27 and 28, 2015.
The broadcast will begin at 12 noon ET on July 5 and will run until 12 a.m. To tune in, head to fans.com.

June 27, 2020 at 9:11 amTake them or leave them. Chicago had some fine music. A good time easily had. Good people all around, good music and decent weather and enough bars around to help enjoy the time when no music. Stayed at a small mansion, changed to a B n B with 23 rooms. Everybody there along with staff went to the shows. Doors getting in, always unlocked and thankfully nobody figured that out as it would have been easy to rob every room and mansion itself, which had some fine stuff easily accessed. mansion had some great chess sets, lamps. antique furniture. One only had key for their room but not for entering the mansion itself, so door had to be left unlocked. Breakfast was great with all telling tales of previous days experiences.

June 27, 2020 at 7:43 pmAnd I know we’re here for JR, but I can’t help it with this yelp reviewer. Antique lamps and chess sets in your 23-room mansion? If there is in fact a Trumpster in our midst, smart money says it’s this twat.

June 29, 2020 at 12:35 pmAhahah, lmfao. Denies his Trumping. So deranged and unstable, makes up six, seven, eight(?) more one-off handles, that have never ever seen the light of day at this site….. the proceeds to have a conversation with himself, Nick-thah-sad-caunt-Phil-Zone who hasn’t seen a show in decades, if ever. So frightening that it’s almost funny, you are actually talking to yourself through 6,7,8 other treacherous postings. The Trump link is for you, too. As Seth Myers perfectly pointed out from his attic the last while during covid from home late night: “When Trump says: “many people are saying this {insert inanity/lies/racism/vitriol/uniformed news/policy}, when he says ‘many people are saying,…….’ well you know it’s yet another whopper.” Just like nick pz-caunt, Stevie-o, karen (lol) throw a female name in there to ‘mix it up’ Lmaooooooooooool, Willis, Tillis, Jack Straw, Jr, my name, etc. etc. that try to converse with each other on a lightly read jam music online site, and sheeeesh, boy do you have classic personality disorder going on, as well as many other issues. Sad child, get some help, if you have any health care / Blue Cross, or what have you, son.

June 29, 2020 at 12:40 pmSo jealous Nick, and really unbecoming. just read jim’s nice little post on his accommodations for FTW. Once again, you add ZILCH, which makes your unblemished record of adding nothing, and only being sickly negative here for the couple of years you have been trolling anyone and everything. I quite enjoyed Jim’s report. It was similar to my experience last year in the artsy neighborhood in Chicago which was a 10 minute to Wrigley. Olde house, only about 12 rooms, similar, and all guests were checked in for the shows. Great weekend, and great shows.

July 6, 2020 at 8:08 amOh, Jaggerrich, we’re here for you, Sweetheart. Just reach out. The first step is admitting you have a problem. After that, it’ all cargo pants and mediocrity. We’ll be waiting:)

June 27, 2020 at 6:49 amOh, Jaggy, you’re such a sad little peen. LOL!!!! Yes, Richard, great post! hahahahahaha! Such insights! hahahaha!!!! troll used my handy as the 5th, or was it 6th, or maybe the 4th comment! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! you’re such a douche bag!!!! LOL!!!!!!
Poor use of the idiom but at least you remembered the Latin lesson I gave you and switched your neuter “alia” to masculine (feminine) “alii” 😉 But gawd, you’re a cunt! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
“don’t have the energy to destroy a joke-troll on a friday night as I now watch the ’87 Shakedown Stream from San Jose (Mountain View, Ca.)” Oh Jaggy, you effortlessly useless non-entity, you have never destroyed anything in your life except flies in the kitchen and your chance at making friends. Oh, and I was at that show. It was an ok after-the-fact outing, like most post-82
Every time you write “pre-game” or sign out with “cheers” an angel loses faith and gets bitch-slapped by God.
Anyhoo, you’re not a smart man, so just ignore this, or write something dumb, or carry on.
How’d I do, you ridiculous bitches?

June 27, 2020 at 9:50 amTrumpist-mentally-ill-curmudgeon-troll-Nick. You are less a smart man than a broken down one, a sad little creature. No lesson to me, now that is funny, you think you are teaching me grammar lessons and linguistics. You treacherous little cunt.

June 27, 2020 at 7:15 pmNailed it! Dude is a total Karen! LOL!!!! Karens never understand what makes them targets. I love the part about “grammar lessons and linguistics”! HAHAHAHA!! Linguistics! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! A true Karen move.

June 27, 2020 at 7:22 pmI’m new to this, so it almost seems a little unfair, like picking on the slow kid on the playground who has no defenses. Still it’s funny, cuz he’s an adult, wrong about everything, and hilariously confident!

June 27, 2020 at 7:26 pmWho was it that corrected his Latin? Tom, was it you?

June 27, 2020 at 7:36 pmJR delendus est. But no, wasn’t me. Could have been anyone.
btw- no one commented that his Trump accusation is a total Karen move, the red herring, that is. Clearly, nobody here supports Trump, and everyone knows that Biden is Trump-light. The other insults are boring, garden-variety – “mentally-ill”, “curmudgeon” “troll” (not sure who “Nick” is but if he’s fucked with JAGGERRICH he’s ok by me!) HAHAHAHAHA!
Gotta go. See you bitches around the piano! And T, bring the mic chords

June 26, 2020 at 8:52 pmthanks Richard, great post, unfortunately I now see that caunt however, PZ Pittsburgh, (the same old troll used my handle as the fifth comment.) I am sure you ignored. thanks, Richards, et alii.
I’m qualified to speak, but I’ll let that caunt be, don’t have the energy to destroy a joke-troll on a friday night as I now watch the ’87 Shakedown Stream from San Jose (Mountain View, Ca.) Enjoy all, those that will watch and savour a sweet Friday Dead show during this lockdown. Cheers all,…
P.S. Really enjoyed the Dave Schools on Gary Lambert’s and Dave Lemieux’s pre-game.

June 26, 2020 at 5:31 pmBottom line is that the real ‘Dead’ are Dead&Co and my man Mayer is the real guitarist for this music that was just waiting for him to bring it to fruition with his smooth, concession-stand musical efforts. I saw Jerry in the 90’s, whatev, but Mayer is the real-deal and better looking in cargo shorts. I wear my cargo shorts to EVERY SHOW! So many pockets to put my things!!!! I think Mayonnaise has seen me from the stage! OMG!!! One time I felt a total connection with him as he flung clumpy mayo from his guitar! It was soooooo perfect! Anyway, bloviation, ummm. Hornstein, $happy, East Coast!
RichardsPoor
June 26, 2020 at 2:40 pmWell said. I got suckered in for all 5 from the East Coast. Made for a nice vacation, otherwise it was a simple cashing out grab to pander Phil into playing with the drummers. Nice job by $happy to create a false sense of real music and scarcity. You couldn’t give away a ticket in Santa Clara, a stones throw from their birthplace and origin. 5 nights of Furthur at the Bill Graham Center would have blown this away…
StevieP
June 26, 2020 at 5:16 pmHuh? Santa Clara was sold out and we were packed like sardines.
RichardsPoor
June 27, 2020 at 11:21 amThen you were hoodwinked by $happy just like the rest of us. We got shitty behind the stage seats multiple times in his “lottery” then he kept selling & releasing tons of great but pricey seats right up until showtime. We rebought primo 50 yard seats and sat in a huge empty section with clean bathroom and empty concessions. Could not give away 12 tickets in the lot or hotel for both nights. It was NOT a sellout by any stretch…

June 26, 2020 at 2:23 pmCorrect! on all points. Hornstein didn’t need to be there, and they snubbed Donna. (I would never expect her to be in the band for the entirety of all 5 shows, but a sweet nod to her would have been classy, like the Fenway shows in ’16, or ’17. it was a nice touch when she guested with D & Co.
Circles around the Sun. My main takeaway. I ordered the double-disc as soon as it came out. Great lounge, ambient music, with GD flares and themes and motifs. So sad that ‘that CATS’ guitarist committed suicide, I have always wondered “WHY?”. Re: the shows themselves: They should have rehearsed (more). The shows had some moments, but also had some real flubs. I was glad to have avoided going, and happily have seen many ‘Dead’ shows since.
CATS
June 26, 2020 at 2:06 pmBest part of these shows was the music being played in between first and second set. The band never rehearsed, Treys tone is terrible for GD music, and Hornsby was in chimenti’s way all weekend. Jeff is a beast on keys and his talents were wasted.
