Nashville based alt-rock band Moon Taxi have shared an acoustic version of their single “Hometown Heroes”. Released in March, the song has taken on a deeper meaning amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as frontline workers have been putting their lives on the line to stop the spread of the virus.

They have also released an accompanying video for “Hometown Heros” (acoustic) which pays tribute to those frontline workers who put their communities’ needs above their own. The video uses images submitted by their fans of their own hometown heroes.

Following the release of the single and the video the band is also slated to perform an acoustic set at the Nashville venue Exit/in for a benefit concert as part of as part of ticketing company Seated’s “See You Soon” live stream series. The concert is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24.
