On June 26, Wigjam will perform a crowdless show at Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. The concert is sponsored by Let It Grow, Inc., and it will benefit WhyHunger to aid in “their fight to end hunger and poverty by connecting people to nutritious, affordable food.” (Quote via press release.) The show will also celebrate 50 years since the Grateful Dead’s Capitol Theatre debut.
“The livestream at Garcia’s will be performed in front of an empty crowd and is a unique opportunity to experience live music during the COVID-19 era,” read a press release. “Fans will be able to jam out from home to WigJam’s electrifying style of music, while also having the opportunity to donate to a good cause in WhyHunger. While the show is free, the band is asking anyone who tunes in to donate, right now or on the night of the show. With the generous support of presenting sponsor Let It Grow, Inc., plus Cafe Amici, and Red Cedar Market, donations will be matched up to $6,000.”
