On Aug. 28, turntable master Mix Master Mike will team up with drummer Steve Jordan on Beat Odyssey 2020, a completely improvised album of experimental beats.
“We would play live, and just have these explosions,” Jordan recalled of the recording sessions. “We were on fire.”
To give listeners a taste of the new project, the duo has released the music video for “The Gospel” which they say is “dedicated to all the non-violent protestors this year, with a video that documents peaceful protests in America.”
“In a world of deception, we need a frequency to guide us all through,” explains Mix Master Mike, “Welcome to ‘The Gospel.'”
