In lieu of their traditional performances in Central Park, New York City’s SummerStage is moving to the digital realm and offering free, weekly online performances all summer long.

“Unfortunately we can’t go to the shows like we used to and we can’t hang out and feel the energy from the incredible bands and the audiences, but they’re going to do the next best thing,” explains Cyndi Lauper, on behalf of the event.

Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage Anywhere will begin on Saturday, June 6 with pop singer MAX, and continue regularly with a LAMC Latin Pride Celebration on June 13, a Juneteenth Day of Dance on June 19 and a performance by Angélique Kidjo on June 26.

“We are really excited to bring SummerStage to audiences at home through SummerStage
Anywhere,” explains Heather Lubov, Executive Director of the City Parks Foundation. “The arts
have been critical during this time of sheltering at home, serving both as a respite and as an
important outlet for expression and creativity.”
