Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin, The Flaming Lips Steven Drozd and Scott Amendola have re-scored part 1 of Cecil B. Demille’s 1923 film The Ten Commandments. The new score will be premiered this evening at around 11 p.m. ET on May 28, as part of the DAWN Cultural Arts Festival, which celebrates the Jewish holiday Shavuot.

According to a press release, “the three multi-instrumentalists combine forces to create a rich tapestry to the film, blending many musical genres, with a special nod to Kraftwerk’s Florian Schneider who recently passed away, to create an experience that brings the silent film to life in these times of plague.”

The festival begins this evening at 10 p.m. ET. Fans can tune in at Rebooters.net/dawn. For a complete schedule of the event, click here. Watch a trailer for the new score below!
