On May 8, The Lumineers presented Colorado Gives Back, a livestream event that benefitted MusiCares COVID-19 relief. The event also partnered with Spotify’s relief effort, which matched all donations to MusiCares. The event has raised over $600,000 so far.

“Proud to call Colorado my home for the last 10 years, and so grateful to every person who tuned in and donated,” said Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers via press release. “Thank you to all the Colorado-based musicians, athletes, policians, and chefs who took part in this fundraiser and special thanks to Spotify and MusiCares. With your help we came together to see that Colorado Gives Back.”

The event featured performances by The Lumineers, OneRepublic, Jewel, Nathaniel Rateliff, Trevor Hall, Todd Park Mohr (Big Head Todd and the Monsters), Bill Nershi and Kyle Hollingsworth (The String Cheese Incident) and Daniel Rodriguez. In addition, “Colorado Gives Back” saw appearances by NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin, Colorado Governor Jared Polis and former Governor John Hickenlooper.

According to a press release: “While Colorado Gives Back is over, the work is not. The event is still viewable on YouTube and the link to donate is still active. In addition, T-shirts commemorating Colorado Gives Back are available for purchase here with all profits going to the two Colorado Gives Back charities.”

“A portion of the funds collected from Colorado Gives Back will be focused specifically on providing assistance to Colorado-based music industry professionals who have lost work due to COVID-19,” continued the release. “For more information on eligibility please visit the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund FAQ page here.”
