After sharing the single on the country legend’s 87th birthday, Edie Brickell has shared the official music for her song “Sing To Me, Willie,” featuring Willie Nelson, himself.
“On Christmas Day, 2018, Willie asked me to write a song for us to sing together,” explains Brickell on how the song came about (Vva press release.) “What a gift! My father and Texas are my biggest connections to Willie. I never hear his voice without loving memories of people and places back home. If only my dad could have heard this song.”
The music video offers much of the classic Texan imagery Nelson was known for, echoing the vivid style for which both Brickell and Nelson are each uniquely known.
