In the wake of cancelled and rescheduled concerts due to coronavirus, My Morning Jacket has become to latest band to offer broadcasts of archival show footage. On May 1 at 8 p.m. ET, the band will stream their 2016 performance at the Shaky Knees Music Festival. The band also stated that this is not a one-time event; they will continue to broadcast shows in the future.
“In times like these it feels more important than ever to come together. While we can’t gather in person, we’re excited to announce that over the coming months we will be streaming some videos of archival shows,” the band wrote in the announcement.
“For each webcast, we’ll be suggesting donations to a different beneficiary,” the statement continued. “Donations made during Friday’s webcast will benefit Crew Nation, dedicated to extending a helping hand to the touring and venue crews who depend on shows and tours to make a living. While you watch, we hope you’ll considering contributing: https://bit.ly/35gnkRj”
