Earlier this week, David Gilmour and his wife, novelist Polly Samson, presented a Facebook livestream to promote Samson’s novel A Theatre For Dreamers. During the stream, Gilmour performed acoustic covers of Leonard Cohen’s “Bird on the Wire” and “So Long, Marianne.”

The performance of “Bird on the Wire” occurs at around 7:46 , and his rendition of “So Long, Marianne” closes out the stream, beginning at around 30 minutes.

Gilmour has also announced that there will another livestream on Thursday, Apr. 9 at 3:30 ET. The guitarist posted a short teaser video to Facebook of him rehearsing Cohen’s “Hey, That’s No Way to Say Goodbye.”

Watch the entire livestream as well as Gilmour’s teaser for the upcoming edition below!

We filmed Thursday's #ATheatreForDreamers book launch live stream on some better cameras (well, until they cut out) – and I've had a play with the audio. Here it is. Also, thanks for the kind words about the Leonard Cohen covers.
