The National have announced a new video series, titled ‘An Exciting Communal Event.’ The band will air a new video each Monday evening at 5 p.m. ET. The band was inspired by the success of airing the YouTube premiere of High Violet’ Live From Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in honor of the album’s 10th anniversary.

“Last Monday was so much fun, we thought to ourselves ‘why not do an exciting communal event every Monday, in support of our crew?'” the band wrote in their announcement post. “Please join us each week as we share content from our vaults including classic live sets, and/or some unseen or rarely seen footage to pass the time at home.”

The first episode of the series proper (not including the High Violet celebration), which aired on Monday, Apr. 6, was a full-set video of the band’s June 21, 2013 performace at the Hurricane Festival.

In the description of the premieres, the band is calling for fans to donate to a Gofundme page for their crew, whose jobs are on hold due to the coronavirus. (To donate, click here.)
