Ahead of his new album It Is What It Is – out Friday, April 3 – Thundercat has shared “Innerstellar Love” a new cut featuring producer Flying Lotus, saxophonist Kamasi Washington and Thundercat’s own brother, percussionist Ronald Bruner Jr.
“Innerstellar Love” follows up previously released singles “Black Qualls” and “Dragonball Durag.”
“This album is about love, loss, life and the ups and downs that come with that,” Thundercat – real name: Stephen Lee Bruner – previously said via press release. “It’s a bit tongue-in-cheek, but at different points in life you come across places that you don’t necessarily understand… some things just aren’t meant to be understood.”
