In a new video, Billy Strings shares an ambient guitar composition dubbed “Guitar Peace.”
The heady arrangement was recorded in January 2019 and, according to Strings’ interview with Acoustic Guitar, it was inspired by the Martin Scorsese documentary George Harrison: Living in the Material World.
“It had a lot of Ravi Shankar talking about this Indian music, which just comes from the soul and reaches down deep,” Strings says. “…I told our engineer [Glenn Brown] just to leave the tape rolling. Then I put the guitar in a weird tuning, smoked a bunch of weed, and got into the zone.”
If you’re a player yourself, Strings transcribed “Guitar Peace” here.
