On Mar. 2, NPR released the video of Bob Weir & Wolf Bros performance on their ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ series. The band is made up of Weir on guitar, Don Was on upright bass and Jay Lane on drums. Mikaela Davis joined the group on harp for the final two songs.
The set began with “Only a River,” a cut from Weir’s 2016 solo record Blue Mountain. The remaining three songs were all Grateful Dead performance staples.
First, the trio performed “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” written by Bob Dylan and originally released by The Band. Next, Davis joined on harp for a rendition of “Bird Song,” which saw Weir switch from acoustic to electric guitar during the jam section. The short set ended with a poignant take on “Ripple.”

March 2, 2020 at 1:22 pmEither you don’t know much about the Grateful Dead, or you are mistaking them for Dead and Company. Taking nothing away from Bob and Wolf Brothers, your statement is simply wrong.
