On April 26, High Time will perform at the Brooklyn Bowl, with visuals by Macrodose. The show is presented by Relix and Thunder Shout.
High Time is a Brooklyn-based Grateful Dead tribute band; they state that their focus is on music from the band’s first decade. According to their website, High Time “us[es] the Dead’s commitment to exploration and group discovery [to] High Time transform the classic repertoire into a new psychedelic language. [They] live in the space where tribute meets innovation — finding a relevant slant on a tried and true tradition.”
In addition to the show, The High Time shows at Brooklyn Bowl will feature a variety of local Grateful Dead-related vendors, who create an interactive ‘Shakedown’ component on the main floor of the venue. The imagery of the Dead has been used as a catalyst for creativity for decades now, but this new generation of artisans are remixing the iconography in a way that has landed them and their followers at the forefront of taste-making.
