On Jan. 26, Trey Anastasio Band performed a show in Dallas, Texas at The Bomb Factory. This marked Anastasio’s first appearance at the venue since the legendary “Tweezerfest” Phish show on May 7, 1994. This led to some banter from Anastasio regarding “Tweezer” as well as a brief tease of the song.

The first set began with “Set Your Soul Free.” After this, Anastasio was handed a sign that read “9,395 Days Since Last Bomb Factory Tweezer” (pictured above). After holding up the sign for the crowd to see, Anastasio briefly teased “Tweezer,” before abruptly stopping. “I’m not doing that, but you get it?” the guitarist joked. The band then launced into “Cayman Review.” Later in the set, TAB played a few songs that are indeed staples of the Phish repertoire (although none of them “Tweezer”): “Everything’s Right,” “Camel Walk,” “Sand” and “Blaze On.”

During the second set, Anastasio continued to play songs that are integral parts of Phish shows as well. After a “Sometime After Sunset” opener, TAB jumped into “Undermind.” They later played “Ghost” followed by “No Men in No Men’s Land.” The set closed with “First Tube.” For the encore, Anastasio led the band through an a cappella rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” followed by a duo of “Clint Eastwood” and “Rise/Come Together.”

Sadly, this show (as well as the prior night’s in Houston) did not feature Cyro Baptista, as he had been hospitalized due to serious flu-like symptoms. Fortunately, Baptista recovered and will return to the stage for the remainder of Trey Anastasio Band’s tour.
