On Jan. 28, Trey Anastasio Band performed at The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas. The show was highlighted by the first performance of “Ruby Waves” since its original debut in 2008.

The show began with “Blaze On” followed by “Mozambique.” Later in the set, the band played “The Landlady,” which they recently busted out in Los Angeles on Jan. 17. The set closed with “First Tube.”

During the second set, TAB performed “Ruby Waves” for the first time since Oct. 19, 2008. That 2008 performance marked the first and only appearance of “Ruby Waves” until Anastasio reworked it to fit in with his Ghosts of the Forest project. Of course, the song also became a part of Phish’s repertoire, which led to their signature performance of the song, the monumental 38-minute version from this summer’s Alpine Valley run.

After performing “Ruby Waves,” TAB continued the set with “Shine,” “Shade,” “46 Days” and “Brief Time” before closing with “Rise/Come Together.” A trio of “Heavy Things,” “Back in the U.S.A.” and “A Life Beyond The Dream” served as the encore.
