As a Christmas treat, Circles Around the Sun have released “Babyman,” the first single and video from their new self-titled studio album. As previously reported, the LP is due March 13, 2020. The clip was directed and animated by Steven Mertens, whose previous work includes videos for Regina Spektor, Dan Auerbach and Sheryl Crow, among others. The song is also available today at all streaming outlets.

According to the band, “Circles Around the Sun’s forthcoming album was recorded just one week prior to founding member and guitarist Neal Casal tragically taking his own life. In a note left behind by Casal, he requested the band continue in his absence. The surviving members have since made the decision to honor those wishes. For the immediate future, Circles Around The Sun comprised by keyboardist Adam MacDougall, bassist Dan Horne and drummer Mark Levy will move forward with rotating guest guitarists in Casal’s place. Plans are currently in the works for a 2020 U.S. tour in support of the new album.”

Circles will close 2019 with stops at Fort Collins, CO’s Aggie Theatre (12/29),
Englewood, CO’s Gothic Theatre (12/30) and Crested Butte, CO’s Public House (12/31). Scott Metzger will play guitar at all three shows.
