Multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Andrew Bird has confirmed tour dates for spring 2020.

The first stop of the tour will take place on April 19 in Charlotte, N.C., and it will conclude May 2, 2020 in Houston, Texas. (Beforehand, Bird will offer a five-night December residency at Chicago’s First Presbyterian Church.)

Erika Wennerstrom from the Heartless Bastards will be supporting Bird on his Spring outing, continuing their collaboration first heard on a reimagining of the track “Manifest,” originally off Bird’s most recent LP, My Finest Work Yet.

My Finest Work Yet, nominated for Best Folk Album at this year’s Grammy Awards, is said to reflect the evolution of mankind and climate change.

In a Relix interview earlier this year, Bird stated, “There might be a little less humor in the lyrics on this record, but I think I’ve earned the right—after doing this for a while—to have fun with the title and the cover of the album [which recreates the 1973 Jacques-Louis David painting The Death of Marat].”

Bird also released a collection of holiday songs on a brand new EP, HARK last month.
