The current iteration of The Who, led by Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, will continue their ‘Moving On!’ tour through 2020, alongside symphony orchestras across North America.
The new dates include a number of rescheduled performances as well as a stop in Florida (April 21) and multiple Las Vegas shows (May 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16).
An April 23 stop a the BB&T Arena at Northern Kentucky University will will also mark the band’s first return to the Cincinnati area in almost 40 years. As some may recall, in December 1979, eleven young lives were lost outside the Riverfront Coliseum as the concert crowd surged forward and was crushed outside the arena.
Discussing the Moving On! tour in early 2019, Townshend noted that The Who may slow down in the near future.
“I think it is always a mistake to ever say ‘farewell,’” he said. “But this will possibly be my last tour. I’m just being realistic about going through the 75th year of my life. I have to be realistic that this is the age I am and voices start to go after a while. I don’t want to be not as good as I was two years ago.”
