On Dec. 19, Trombone Shorty, Hot 8 Brass Band and New Breed Brass Band will perform at the sixth annual “Tunes for Tots” benefit at New Orleans’ historic Tipitina’s club.
For his set, Trombone Shorty will play alongside students from his Trombone Shorty Academy, which guides the Crescent City’s “next generation of musically gifted students.”
“This toy drive is very special to my heart,” Trombone Shorty (real name: Troy Andrews) said in 2017. “We love being able to showcase our Academy students’ hard work, and also give back to children in the Treme community where I was born and raised.”
The event will be free and open to the public; admission will be granted with the donation of a toy.
