Oysterhead – the experimental supergroup featuring Phish’s Trey Anastasio, Primus’ Les Claypool and The Police’s Stewart Copeland – last performed together at Bonnaroo 2006.

Today, however, a batch of cryptic social media posts may hint at an impending reunion.

On Twitter and Instagram, the post reads simply, “When all else has been done and said,” which is taken straight from the band’s original cut “Mr. Oysterhead.”

No additional information was given, although it seems more details are on the way. Oysterhead formed in 2000 as a one-off group for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, but the trio enjoyed themselves so much they released a formal album The Grand Pecking Order in 2001. Claypool, Anastasio and Copeland toured behind the record across North America, broke up, and subsequently reunited for two shows in 2006, the final being the aforementioned Bonnaroo gig.

Claypool mentioned his desire to get Oysterhead back together as recently as 2016, saying, “I was trying to wrangle up an Oysterhead reunion since Primus was taking a rest for 2016 but the planets just wouldn’t align for that.”

In 2017, Copeland was feeling similarly nostalgic, telling Relix, “With Les [Claypool] and Trey [Anastasio], I discovered that setlists are for wimps and material is for wimps. [Laughs.] With the jamband experience, the audience wants to have never heard it before, and for no one to have ever played it before.”
