On Saturday, Oct. 5, rising star Billy Strings surprised the crowd at the Empire Garage in Austin, Texas by joining the Eric Krasno Trio for a number of tunes.
The multi-song sit-in featured hits like the Allman Brothers Band’s “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed,” and saw the usually acoustic Strings plug in a new Fender telecaster.
“Thanks @erickrasno for having me sit-in last night!! It was a blast taking this blue @fender on its maiden voyage,” Strings wrote afterwards via Instagram.
Interestingly, both Strings and Krasno released new albums on Sept. 27: Strings sharing his sophomore album Home and Krasno offering his first concept record under the Kraz moniker, Telescope.
