Next month, Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, TX, will host a mini-festival dubbed Day of the Deadhead, which will honor the music of the Grateful Dead as well as the memory of late guitarist Neal Casal with appearances from Casal’s Circles Around the Sun, legendary Meters bassist George Porter Jr., singer-songwriter Nicki Bluhm, guitarist Steve Kimock and more.

Bluhm will be teaming up with Bay Area guitarists Scott Law and Ross James, while the headlining supergroup, Dark Hallow, will feature Porter, Kimock, Papa Mali, Matt Hubbard, Terrence Houston and more. The celebration will also include music from Roots of Creation, The New Bohemians, Deadeye and DJ Zapot of Golden Dawk Arkestra.

Proceeds from Day of the Deadhead, set for Nov. 2 at Carson Creek, will go to support the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. Tickets and more information can be found here.
