On Saturday evening, the International Bluegrass Music Awards-hosted Wide Open Bluegrass festival came to a close at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC, with a special “Delebration” led by Del McCoury Band and featuring a number of special guest collaborators, including Phish drummer Jon Fishman, New Orleans staples Preservation Hall Jazz Band, mandolin icon Sam Bush and dobro legend Jerry Douglas, among others.

As JamBase reports, Fishman’s sit in included runs of U2’s hit “Pride (In the Name of Love)” (also featuring Dierks Bentley) and McCoury’s own “Beauty of My Dreams,” which Phish have covered many times since the late-’90s, plus the Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Nashville Cats,” Richard Thompson’s “1952 Vincent Black Lightning,” “Little Cabin Home on the Hill” and more.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band joined McCoury and company for “Banjo Frisco,” one of the tracks from the two group’s 2011 collaborative album, American Legacies. Bush’s time on stage included “Midnight on the Stormy Deep” and “Roll On Buddy,” while several of the night’s guests joined McCoury and his band for a finale of “I’ll Fly Away.”
