Umphrey’s McGee brought their tour to Piedmont Hall in Greensboro, NC, on Thursday night, and the band welcomed Casey Cranford of opening act Big Something for a tune during the first set.
The collaboration took place near the end of the opening frame during a run of “Hurt Bird Bath,” when UM sidestepped into their first “Amble On” since January 2018 (and only their second since early 2016), with Cranford helping out on saxophone. Last night’s second set featured staples like Anchor Drops cuts “Plunger” and “In the Kitchen,” followed by an encore of “Phil’s Farm.”
Check out the full setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section, along with fan-shot video from the night thanks to YouTube user Danegerous87. Next up for Umphrey’s McGee is a show this evening in Charlottesville, VA.
In other UM news, the band recently teased guitarists Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger’s annual holiday duo show in Chicago, posting a “save the date” image of the gig’s usual stage setup on their social media, announcing it for Dec. 7 at Chicago’s Park West.
