On Sept. 19 (9/19/19), Dopapod embraced their longstanding affinity for palindromes at Resonance festival, spelling the word “Palindromes” with their setlist.
The band came back from a year-plus hiatus in April 2019, and they’ve been touring sporadically since the release of their sixth studio album Emit Time (which, of course, is also a palindrome).
Ahead of their upcoming fall tour – their longest since hiatus – Dopapod’s set at Resonance kicked off with the high-energy “Plaese Haalp” off their 2017 LP Megagem, and continued through a cover of System of a Down’s “Aerials.”
The first Emit Time tune of the evening came with “Landmines,” followed by the throwback original “Indian Grits.”
Radiohead’s “Nude” followed, as did a rare cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Dazed and Confused.”
Dopapod went back to their originals with “Roid Rage,” “Onionhead” and the newer “Mucho.”
After “Ellemeno” (which dates back to 2009’s Radar) the band closed with “Same Damn Thing,” the title track off guitarist Rob Compa’s recent solo project.
