This week’s edition of the Grateful Dead’s “All The Years Live” video series spotlights an eight-plus minute “New Speedway Boogie” from Summer Tour ’91. Specifically, the gig dates back to 6/17/91 at Giants Stadium, and features the unique dueling keyboard lineup of Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick.

“Another Garcia-Hunter classic that disappeared from the repertoire for way too long, ‘New Speedway Boogie’ was gone from 1970 to 1991, when it finally returned in February at the Oakland Coliseum. This bluesy Workingman’s Dead standout stretched out and allowed the Dead to take it to some exciting places,” says GD legacy manager/archivist David Lemieux.
