Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Bryce Dessner, Eighth Blackbird’s Nathalie Joachim (l-r)

This Friday, The National’s Bryce Dessner, Bonnie “Prince” Billy (a.k.a. Will Oldham) and contemporary classical ensemble Eighth Blackbird will release their new collaborative album, When We Are Inhuman, featuring new arrangements of Oldham’s music and more.

The group recently shared one track from the album, a setting of Oldham’s “New Partner,” which can be heard below.

Dessner himself has also recently scheduled three orchestral performances for this fall. The musician will present the US premiere of his Concerto for Two Pianos Sept. 20 and 21 with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque at Cincinnati’s Music Hall, and on Nov. 16, Dessner will offer his composition Wires at New York’s famed Lincoln Center.
