After canceling and postponing a number of August and September tour dates due to an appendectomy surgery needed for guitarist/singer-songwriter Devon Allman, The Allman Betts Band have provided an update on Allman’s health and added some tour dates, including makeup shows for the rescheduled gigs and even a run of performances with The Charlie Daniels Band.

The Allman Betts Band will team up with Daniels and company as the latter band celebrates the 40th anniversary of Daniels’ landmark track, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” for four nights in mid-November with shows at New York’s Beacon Theatre on Nov. 13 and subsequent nights in Glenside, PA, Wallingford, CT, and Waterloo, NY.

The Allman Betts Band posted a note on their social media about Allman’s progress, writing, “Devon is healing fine from the first surgery in Germany. He is in good spirits and is now readying for the next surgery. He has a rock star team of doctors in St. Louis and should be fully healed for the big comeback in mid-October.”

The Allman Betts Band are back on the road Oct. 18 with a show in Natchez, MS, kicking off a Southeast run that stretches into November and up the East Coast to meet up with Daniels’ group.
