Umphrey’s McGee were clearly excited to return to their hometown of Chicago on Saturday night, kicking the show off with a brand new original – dubbed “Punchable Face,” welcoming pedal steel played Mike Racky for two songs and even encoring with a Derek and the Dominos classic.

Following a nice “Words”> “Phil’s Farm”> “Lenny” segment, the Racky sit-in came midway through set one. The musician added pedal steel to “Hajimemashite” and “Push & Pull.”

The second half was bookended by newer cuts “The Silent Type” and “Remind Me,” with highlights like an “Ocean Billy” containing pieces of John Lennon’s “Imagine” within.

The band encored with a rocking version of Derek and the Dominos’ “Layla” which bled nicely into their own “Gulf Stream.”

“Sweet home Chicago,” the band wrote afterwords via Instagram.
