On Friday evening, John Mayer brought his solo summer tour to the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC, and the Dead & Company guitarist marked the performance, which fell on the 24th anniversary of the death of Grateful Dead legend Jerry Garcia, with his solo debut of the Dead classic “Ripple” during last night’s encore.

Mayer continued this tour’s format of two sets with an acoustic portion at the beginning of the second, offering staple originals like “No Such Thing,” “Your Body is a Wonderland,” “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” “Waiting On the World to Change” and “Gravity” throughout the night. For the encore, Mayer played opened with a no-frills acoustic version of “Ripple,” which was accompanied by a photo of Garcia displayed at the back of the stage near the end of the tune, marking the first rendition of the song in a solo Mayer set.

Check out the full setlist below, along with fan-shot video of “Ripple.” Mayer continues his tour tomorrow night in Atlanta.
