Later this month, the Gregg Allman estate will reissue two of the late Allman Brothers Band co-founder’s albums, Laid Back and The Gregg Allman Tour, as deluxe editions, and today fans can listen to a track from the former collection, a rare rehearsal clip of Allman playing his classic tune “Midnight Rider.”

The newly released recording features Allman’s signature voice singing over an acoustic instrumentation led by guitar and Allman’s own piano work. Listen below.

The 2-CD and digital deluxe editions of Laid Back will include the original remastered album plus 26 bonus tracks and will be available Aug. 30. Pre-order the collection here.
