Soulive will return to Brooklyn Bowl for six nights next month for Bowlive VIII, and the band has revealed the guests for the second weekend of the residency.
Joining the band on July 18, 19 and 20, respectively, will be guitarist/vocalist Marcus King, legendary Meters bassist George Porter Jr. and saxophonist Sam Kininger, a former member of frequent Soulive collaborators The Shady Horns who has toured with the band as well as adjacent group Lettuce.
The three additions join a Bowlive lineup that also features first-weekend guests Ivan Neville, Oteil Burbridge and guitarist John Scofield (July 11, 12, 13, respectively). Tickets to all six nights of Bowlive VIII and more information can be found at Brooklyn Bowl’s website.
